This letter is to confirm that I, Tyler Arsenault B.Sc (applied Nutrition) has reviewed, analyzed and approve Niche Catering’s Lunch Program. Furthermore, the developers of the menu have consulted with me with respect to meeting age-appropriate nutritional requirements, as well as special dietary needs for individual students.

 

The Niche Catering Lunch Program not only meets the Dietary Reference Intake levels required by Health Canada, but significantly exceeds them. The Dietary Reference Intake values were established as a set of nutritional requirements by the National Academy of Sciences and Institute of Medicine to provide sufficient nutrition to healthy individuals of every demographic. Moreover, the Niche Catering Lunch Program is consistent with Health Canada’s Food Guide recommendations.

 

The Niche Catering Lunch Program menu places an emphasis on balanced, healthy, kid-appealing foods of reasonable cultural diversity. Noteworthy strengths of the menu include the incorporation of homemade ingredients from local sources, whole grain bread products, nutrient dense vegetables, lean protein-rich meats, natural high-fibre foods, and calcium and nutrient-dense foods for growing bodies and minds.

 

Entirely absent from the menu are unnaturally occurring trans-fact, refined sugar, artificial colours and flavours, fillers, preservatives and excessive sodium; all of which can be detrimental to health through continuous consumption.

 

Based on my experience, the Niche Catering Lunch Program is complete, balanced, and extraordinarily healthy. It is geared towards meeting age- appropriate nutritional needs and will contribute to positive outcomes in learning, behaviour, focus and energy of the students.
