Our Food

  • Our lunches are complete, balanced and extraordinarily healthy, made with personal care each morning
  • We incorporate homemade ingredients from local sources, whole grain bread products, nutrient dense vegetables, lean protein-rich meats, natural high-fibre foods, and calcium and nutrient-dense foods for growing bodies and minds
  • Entirely absent from our menus are unnaturally occurring trans-fact, refined sugar, artificial colours and flavours, fillers, preservatives and excessive sodium; all of which can be detrimental to health through continuous consumption

 

Our Menus

  • We offer a five-week rotating lunch and/or snack menu that offers varied food styles and multicultural influences
  • Our Menus not only meet the Dietary Reference Intake levels required by Health Canada, but significantly exceeds them
  • Our Lunch Program is approved by an independent Registered Dietician, providing insurance that our program is strictly targeted toward children and their optimal health requirements

 

Accountability

  • Food is prepared in a large, regularly inspected commercial kitchen
  • We meet the Ministry of Health, Canadian Food Guide & Day Nurseries Act regulations
  • All food is cooked and maintained at proper hot holding temperatures and all food handling regulations are followed during entire food preparing process

 

Dietary Restrictions and Allergy Management

  • We provide meal substitutions for all dietary restrictions and sensitivities
  • We have enlisted a nutritionist to assist us in developing delicious menu items for such restrictions
  • Our strict supervision policy provides both parents and childcare facilities with complete confidence that their children’s food requirements will be properly met at all times
